Then, winds shift westerly, increasing to 50 to 60 mph with gusts up to 75 mph. * WHERE...Shemya. * WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 4 AM AKDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...High winds may move loose debris, damage property, and cause power outages. Travel will be difficult. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There is a 30 to 50 percent chance of gusts 75 mph or greater with southeasterly winds in the early afternoon. However, the highest gusts will be most likely from about mid-afternoon through the evening, after winds turn westerly. Winds will gradually diminish through the overnight hours.
