At 616 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7 miles northwest of Fremont, or 16 miles northeast of Smithfield, moving east at 10 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.
Locations impacted include... Fremont, Kenly, Lucama, Stantonsburg, Black Creek, Pikeville, Saratoga, Eureka, Buckhorn Reservoir, and Nahunta.
This includes the following highways... Interstate 95 between Mile Markers 116 and 105. NC Highway 264 between Mile Markers 43 and 48, and near Mile Marker 56.
