At 1134 AM CDT, a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located 17 nm southeast of Louisiana Offshore Oil Port, or 25 nm southwest of Southwest Pass Of the Mississippi River. The a cluster of severe thunderstorms were nearly stationary.
HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves.
