At 139 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Spanish Peaks, or 25 miles northwest of Trinidad, moving northeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.
Locations impacted include... Walsenburg, La Veta, Aguilar, La Veta Pass, Gulnare, Cuchara Pass, Stonewall, Spanish Peaks, Weston, Spring Burn Scar north of Highway 160, Spring Burn Scar south of Highway 160 in Huerfano county, Indian Creek on the southeastern Spring Burn Scar, and northern Spring Burn Scar south of Highway 160 in Costilla county.
