Wind Advisory

* WHAT...Northeast winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.

* WHERE...East Carteret and Mainland Dare Counties, and Hatteras Island, Northern Outer Banks, and Ocracoke Island. The strongest winds are expected for areas adjacent to bodies of water.

* WHEN...From 2 PM Wednesday to 8 PM EDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A strong coastal low will develop offshore east of the Carolinas and move north towards the New England coast by this weekend. A period of moderate to strong winds is expected to impact portions of the coast Wednesday into Thursday. These strong winds may last longer depending on the track of the low.
