The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for... Coastal waters from Edisto Beach SC to Savannah GA out 20 NM...

* Until 115 PM EDT.

* At 1122 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located over Beaufort 45 Feet Reef, moving north at 20 knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to 34 knots.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include... Beaufort 45 Feet Reef, Hunting Island Reef, Fripp Island Reef, Fripp Island Wreck, Betsy Ross Reef, General Gordon, Fripp Inlet Buoy and Hilton Head Reef.
