The heavy rainfall threat that came from the active monsoon pattern has started diminishing. Shower coverage has dropped to scattered across Yap State today with some isolated thunderstorms observed. Some of the heavier showers that remain could cause additional flash flooding and mudslide concerns where soils are saturated. Shower coverage is expected to become isolated on Friday as the active phase of the monsoon pattern shifts northward. The dry phase of the monsoon will persist through the weekend. This will be the last issuance of this product for this event. Residents across Yap State should monitor local forecasts and heed advice of emergency managers when heavy rainfall occurs.
