...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR EAST FACING SHORES OF KAUAI, OAHU, MOLOKAI, MAUI, AND THE BIG ISLAND THROUGH SUNDAY...

.Hurricane Nolo is generating swell that is producing warning level surf along southeast facing shores of the Big Island. This swell combined with strengthening trades is producing advisory level surf along east facing shores of the Big Island, Maui, Molokai, Oahu and Kauai that will maintain tonight and then begin to diminish on Sunday as Nolo moves westward away from the islands.

* WHAT...For the High Surf Warning, dangerously large breaking waves of 12 to 16 feet. For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 9 to 12 feet.

* WHERE...Southeast facing shores of the Big Island.

* WHEN...For the High Surf Warning, until 6 AM HST Sunday. For the High Surf Advisory, from 6 AM to 6 PM HST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...High. Expect very strong breaking waves and powerful currents. Waves breaking in channel entrances may make navigating the channels dangerous.
