The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... West Central Jackson County in northwestern West Virginia...

* Until 615 AM EDT.

* At 211 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across and upstream of the warned area. Up to 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Cottageville.

This includes Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 141 and 143.

This includes the following streams and drainages... Bullfrog Run, Johns Run, Left Fork Sandy Creek, Cow Run, Crooked Fork, Ohio River, Spring Creek, Sandy Creek and Mill Creek.
