Special Weather Statement

Patchy dense fog has begun to develop across parts of the North Carolina mountains and foothills, primarily in mountain valleys and other sheltered areas. Visibility as low as 1/4 mile is possible. Visibility may drop suddenly and over short distances. Issues are expected to continue the remainder of tonight, improving quickly once the sun rises.

If driving this morning, exercise caution. Increase your following distance, slow down in foggy areas, and turn on your low-beam headlights.
