* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 8 to 10 feet in the surf zone and dangerous rip currents.
* WHERE...West and north facing reefs of the Marianas.
* WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory, until 4 PM ChST Monday. For the High Rip Current Risk, through Monday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Elevated, long-period, northwest swell from Typhoon In-fa will continue to produce hazardous surf and a high risk of rip currents along west and north facing reefs through this afternoon, possibly diminishing below hazardous levels tonight as swells steadily diminish. Hazardous surf of 8 to 10 feet is expected to diminish below hazardous levels, becoming 6 to 8 feet tonight. However, if the long-period swell energy remains elevated longer than expected, then the High Surf Advisory and High Rip Current Risk Statement may be extended once more.
