At 1127 AM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists detected a a strong thunderstorm, capable of producing wind gusts near 30 knots and occasional lightning strikes. This thunderstorm was located 7 nm north of Horseshoe Key. The thunderstorm was nearly stationary.
