* Until 1015 PM EDT Friday.
* At 413 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Goose Creek, Hanahan, Daniel Island, I-26/I-526 Interchange, Downtown Charleston, West Ashley, Don Holt Bridge and Charleston Naval Complex.
The heaviest rain has fallen across an area from around North Charleston, to Daniel Island, Cainhoy, and north Mount Pleasant. A few rain gages have measured over 3 inches of rain in this area and another round of heavy rain is moving back into these locations. Impacted roadways include, but are not limited to, Interstate 26, Interstate 526, Highway 41, and Highway 17.
