The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... South Central Kane County in southern Utah...

* Until 1100 PM MDT Monday.

* At 407 PM MDT, the public reported high flows on upper reaches of the Paria River south of Tropic. This flood wave will continue to move downstream past Highway 89 and into the Lower Paria River Canyon. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen over the upper reaches of the Paria River drainage. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks, streams, slot canyons, and normally dry washes.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Areas along the Paria River in South Central Kane County, including the Lower Paria River Canyon.
