The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Northeastern Craig County in southwestern Virginia... Southwestern Alleghany VA County in west central Virginia... South Central Greenbrier County in southeastern West Virginia... Northeastern Monroe County in southeastern West Virginia...

* Until 745 PM EDT Sunday.

* At 136 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain on Midland Trail in Lewisburg. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1.5 to 2.5 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
