* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 105 expected southwest Iowa and the Omaha metro.

* WHERE...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 110 expected in southwest Iowa. Overnight minimum heat index values remain in the upper-70s and low-80s.

* WHEN...From 1 PM Sunday to 9 PM CDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Overnight heat indices in the upper-70s and low-80s will prevent uncooled homes from easily dispersing the day's heat. Hot temperatures are expected to linger through the week. The extreme heat warning may be extended or replaced with a heat advisory into the work week.
