The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... East Central Bland County in southwestern Virginia...

* Until midnight EDT tonight.

* At 559 PM EDT, emergency management reported thunderstorms that produced flooding along Blue Grass Trail. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.5 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Bland... Bastian... Kimberling... Long Spur...

This includes the following streams and drainages... Sulphur Spring Fork, Walker Creek, Hunting Camp Creek, Crab Orchard Creek, Kimberling Creek, Spur Branch, Little Walker Creek, Helveys Mill Creek and Town Creek.
