Hocking River at Athens affecting Athens County.

For the Hocking River...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Hocking River at Athens.

* WHEN...From this afternoon to late tonight.

* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Low sections of Harmony Road begin to flood. In Nelsonville, the baseball fields along Watkins Street flood. At 20.0 feet, Low areas, campground, and private camps along the river between Athens and Coolville begin to flood. Much of the city of Athens is protected up to 26 feet by levees. In Nelsonville, the baseball field adjacent to Lake Hope Drive floods.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:15 PM EDT Tuesday the stage was 20.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 16.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 2:15 PM EDT Tuesday was 20.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late this evening and continue falling to 10.9 feet Sunday morning. - Flood stage is 20.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 20.1 feet on 02/10/2019. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
