The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... South Central Fayette County in southeastern West Virginia... Central Raleigh County in southeastern West Virginia...

* Until 1145 PM EDT.

* At 845 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Beckley, Mount Hope, Mabscott, Sophia, Dry Creek, Macarthur, Crab Orchard, Prosperity, Stanaford, Beaver, Bradley, Piney View, Daniels, Coal City, Lester, Glen Daniel and Bolt.

This includes the following highways... Route 19 between mile markers 1 and 4. Interstate 64 in West Virginia between mile markers 120 and 127. West Virginia Turnpike between mile markers 37 and 50.

Flash flooding is occurring in Beckley.
