* Flash Flood Warning for... North Central Boone County in central West Virginia... Central Kanawha County in central West Virginia... West Central Clay County in north central West Virginia...
* Until 1045 PM EDT.
* At 752 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Charleston, South Charleston, Chesapeake, Marmet, Belle, Clendenin, Coal Fork, Pinch, Elkview, Glen, Racine and Ashford.
This includes the following highways... Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 96 and 103. Route 119 near mile marker 73...and between mile markers 79 and 80. West Virginia Turnpike between mile markers 86 and 95. Interstate 79 near mile marker 1...and near mile marker 5...and between mile markers 19 and 21.
