For the Wabash River...including Linn Grove, Bluffton IN, Wabash, Logansport...Minor flooding is forecast. For the Saint Marys River...including Decatur, St. Mary's River near Fort Wayne...Moderate flooding is forecast.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Saint Marys River near Decatur.
* WHEN...Until Friday evening.
* IMPACTS...At 20.5 feet, Indiana 101 north of Pleasant Mills is closed by flood water. Extensive agricultural flooding is in progress. Residents of the east and southeast side of Decatur become concerned.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:10 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 20.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:10 PM EDT Wednesday was 22.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late Friday morning and continue falling to 9.6 feet Monday evening. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
Instructions
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
