* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive runoff continues.
* WHERE...Southwestern Chaves County in southeastern New Mexico...
* WHEN...Until 1230 PM MDT Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 821 PM MDT, the first flood wave along the Rio Penasco that prompted the warning has passed. However, a second flood wave is possible overnight from heavy runoff in the Sacramento Mountains. Instructions
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
