.Repeating rounds of showers and thunderstorms over the past 72 hours, ending at 8 AM this morning, has brought copious rainfall to eastern, northern central, and much of western Indiana. Maximum radar estimates range from roughly three inches near Terre Haute to six to seven inches from Vermilion County, Illinois southeast to northern Vermillion, southern Fountain, and northern Parke counties in Indiana.

The crest at Lafayette is expected Saturday, Terre Haute Sunday night, and Mt Mount Carmel early in the week of August 23.

* IMPACTS...At 21.0 feet, The Wabash River extends to Interstate 70 Mile Marker Number 4 from its west bank in the Terre Haute and West Terre Haute area. All lakes in this area are affected by seep water and reach capacity with some minor flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 5:30 PM EDT Friday /4:30 PM CDT Friday/ the stage was 16.8 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 5:30 PM EDT Friday /4:30 PM CDT Friday/ was 16.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.2 feet early Monday morning.
