Verdigris River at Independence affecting Montgomery and Wilson Counties.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Verdigris River at Coffeyville.

* WHEN...From Friday afternoon to late Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Flooding of low-lying areas is expected, especially along the left bank near the Water Plant. Further upstream and downstream from the gage site the river spreads out into the flood plain.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 6:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 7.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 19.2 feet Saturday evening. It will then fall below flood stage late Saturday evening. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
