* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Virginia, including the following counties, Bland, Smyth and Tazewell and southeast West Virginia, including the following county, Mercer.

* WHEN...Until 115 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1016 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Bluestone River, Beech Fork, Burkes Garden Creek, Clinch River, Blue Spring Creek, Big Creek, Beaver Creek and Campbell Creek. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Bluefield... Richlands... Tazewell... Saltville... Cedar Bluff...
