...The National Weather Service in Tampa Bay Ruskin has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Florida...
Withlacoochee At US 41 Dunnellon affecting Citrus, Marion and Levy Counties.
.The Withlacoochee River at Dunnellon (US 41) has been steadily rising since July and on September 15, reached flood stage. The cause of the high water along the Withlacoochee River at Dunnellon is excessive hydrilla growth (from river bottom to the water surface) along a 4.5 mile stretch of river between US 41 and Lake Rousseau. The hydrilla is acting like a dam and holding water back, causing water levels to rise.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Withlacoochee at US 41 Dunnellon.
* WHEN...Until further notice.
* IMPACTS...At 28.2 feet, Docks and boat ramps flood along the river in Citrus and Marion counties.
