At 658 PM CDT...A gust front was located 7 nm north of West Choctawhatchee Bay, or 9 nm north of Destin...moving south at 20 knots.
Locations impacted include... Mary Esther, Fort Walton Beach, Highway 331 Bridge, Shalimar, Destin, East Bay, Okaloosa Pier, Navarre Beach, West Choctawhatchee Bay, and East Santa Rosa Sound.
The primary threats from the gust front are wind gusts up to 30 knots and locally higher waves. Boaters should consider seeking safe harbor until the gust front has passed.
The gust front may continue to intensify and a warning may soon be needed. Please continue to monitor local radio or TV for further National Weather Service updates or possible warnings.
