The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Fire Weather Watch for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels, which is in effect from Monday afternoon through Monday evening.
* AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 202 White River Forecast Area, Fire Weather Zone 207 Southwest Colorado Lower Forecast Area and Fire Weather Zone 290 Paradox Valley Forecast Area.
* TIMING...For the first Red Flag Warning, until midnight MDT tonight. For the second Red Flag Warning, from noon to 10 PM MDT Sunday. For the Fire Weather Watch, from Monday afternoon through Monday evening.
* WINDS...Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...8 to 13 percent.
* IMPACTS...Extreme fire danger is expected. Fires will uncontrollably spread and be very destructive.
