At 1136 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a cluster of strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and weak waterspouts. This cluster of thunderstorms is generally located along a line extending from 62 nm south of Sand Island Lighthouse to 52 nm south of Farewell Buoy to 42 nm east of Venice to 22 nm southeast of Pilottown, moving northeast at 15 knots.
