* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...West Fork of Whitewater River at Alpine.

* WHEN...Until Friday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, This stage will exceeds the FEMA 1 percent flood. Flooding occurs along the river in southern Fayette and northern Franklin Counties, including in Alpine, Nulltown and Laurel. In Connersville, homes between Dora Avenua dn the river on the east side of Connersville flood, as well as along Grand Avenue on the south side. Structures flooded in Laurel are mainly along and east of North Franklin Street, with homes south of Commerce Street also flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 17.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 23.0 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Friday morning. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - Flood History...No available flood history.
