Walnut River at Augusta affecting Butler and Cowley Counties.

Walnut River at Arkansas City affecting Cowley County.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Walnut River at Arkansas City.

* WHEN...From Friday morning to Monday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Considerable flooding of farmland is expected. Widespread flooding of the park just upstream of the gage site is anticipated. East Chestnut Avenue east of By-pass is closed due to water over roadway. Greens Farm Road floods between Highway 166 north to Dunbar Hill.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:15 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 9.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage tomorrow morning to a crest of 20.5 feet Saturday evening. It will then fall below flood stage early Monday morning. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
