.An upper trough from the Pacific is forecast inland across northern California Friday, southeast Oregon Friday night, and southwest Idaho overnight through Saturday. The trough will bring a 30 to 60 percent chance of thunderstorms with potential for new fire starts due to lightning. Initial storms may be dry with strong gusty outflow winds, especially in southeast Oregon, but storms overnight through Saturday should be wetter, especially in Idaho.
The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a Fire Weather Watch for lightning, which is in effect from Friday afternoon through late Friday night.

* TIMING...From Friday afternoon through late Friday night.
* THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered coverage with abundant lightning.

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
