Nueces River Near Asherton affecting Dimmit County.

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Nueces River near Asherton.

* WHEN...Until early Sunday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 27.0 feet, Major widespread lowland flooding cuts off and potentially drowns livestock above Uvalde to below Tilden. Most secondary roads and low bridges near the river flood. Flow is within a foot of the bottom of the Farm to Market 190 bridge and the approaches are flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:30 PM CDT Friday the stage was 26.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 18.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 1:30 PM CDT Friday was 27.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage early Sunday morning and continue falling to 9.7 feet early Wednesday afternoon. - Flood stage is 20.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 27.0 feet on 01/03/1985. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
