.Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop across far eastern Oregon and western Idaho on Thursday. Storms will be capable of frequent lightning, gusty outflow winds, and only sporadic wetting rains. While the thunderstorm threat will end by Friday and Saturday, hot, dry, and windy conditions will develop, primarily across southeast Oregon and the higher terrain of southwest Idaho. The driest and windiest day at this time is expected on Saturday.
* AFFECTED AREA...In Idaho, Fire Weather Zones 401 Western Payette National Forest and 402 Eastern Payette National Forest. In Oregon, Fire Weather Zones 670 Burns BLM and 671 Steens Mountain.
* TIMING...From Friday afternoon through Saturday evening.
* WINDS...Southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...7 to 14 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
