* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Southwestern Sheridan County in northwestern Kansas... Southern Thomas County in northwestern Kansas... Western Gove County in west central Kansas... Logan County in west central Kansas...
* WHEN...Until 900 AM CDT Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 500 PM CDT, the Logan County Emergency Manager reported water over a few county road ways. Minor flooding is already occurring. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 3 inches may occur tonight. If this rain occurs, expect more widespread flooding issues. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Oakley, Grinnell, Winona, Monument, Russell Springs, Mingo, The Monument Rocks and Angelus.
Instructions
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
