Details

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Northwestern Val Verde County in south central Texas...
* WHEN...Until noon CDT Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry creeks. River or stream flows are elevated.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 438 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Devils River, Howard Draw, Johnson Draw, Big Fielder Draw, Pecos River, Eagle Nest Creek and Devils Draw. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Pandale and Pumpville. - Some of the larger streams, including the Pecos River will be taking on water from well upstream in areas just outside of Val Verde County. This means that the stream bed may not become flooded until after daybreak. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
