Extreme Heat Warning

* WHAT...High temperatures 100 to 105 degrees in the valleys each afternoon. Low temperatures 62 to 70 degrees in the valleys each night. This will result in a major risk for heat-related illnesses for much of the population, especially those without effective cooling.

* WHERE...Northern Lander and Northern Eureka, Southern Lander and Southern Eureka, Southwest Elko, Northeastern Nye, and Northwestern Nye Counties.

* WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, until 6 AM PDT Friday. For the Extreme Heat Warning, from 6 AM Friday to 11 PM PDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat
