The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Northwestern Florence County in northeastern South Carolina...

* Until 845 PM EDT.

* At 538 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Florence, Timmonsville, Quinby, Effingham, Evergreen, Francis Marion University, Mars Bluff, Claussen, Carolinas Hospital System, Carolinas Hospital System - Cedar Tower, Health South Rehabilitation Hospital and Mcleod Regional Medical Center.

This includes the following highways... Interstate 95 IN South Carolina between mile markers 150 and 164. Interstate 20 between mile markers 140 and 141.
