The National Weather Service in Charleston has extended the
* Flash Flood Warning for... Berkeley County in southeastern South Carolina... Charleston County in southeastern South Carolina... Dorchester County in southeastern South Carolina...
* Until 1030 PM EDT.
* At 854 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated showers and thunderstorms with heavy rainfall approaching the North Charleston Area. A quick 1 to 2 inches of additional rainfall could occur with this activity. Emergency management officials report flood conditions have improved greatly since earlier this evening. However, any additional rainfall could result in renewed flash flooding.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... North Charleston, Summerville, Goose Creek, Hanahan, I-26/I-526 Interchange, Naval Weapons Station Charleston, Ladson, Daniel Island, Charleston Airport and Magnolia Gardens.
This includes the following highways... I-26 between mile markers 206 and 214. I-526 between mile markers 18 and 21.
