Rip Current Statement

* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 8 to 10 feet and dangerous rip currents expected in the surf zone.

* WHERE...For the High Surf Advisory, along west and north facing reefs of the Marianas. For the High Rip Current Risk, along west, north, and east facing reefs.

* WHEN...Until 4 PM ChST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...As Dolphin continues to move toward Iwo To, the long-period swell direction is expected to shift to the northwest around midweek.
