.Lowland minor flooding will develop along the Wabash River as a result of heavy rainfall.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Wabash River at Riverton.

* WHEN...From Saturday morning to Friday, August 21.

* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Extensive lowland flooding is in progress. High water surrounds many river cabins. Access to most river cabins is by boat only. Levees begin to protect farmland. Extensive flooding of Leaverton Park occurs in Palestine, Illinois.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:00 PM EDT Thursday /11:00 AM CDT Thursday/ the stage was 4.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late Saturday morning to a crest of 17.6 feet early Wednesday afternoon.
