For the following areas... Chesapeake Bay from Drum Point MD to Smith Point VA... Tangier Sound and the inland waters surrounding Bloodsworth Island...

At 639 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 10 nm northwest of Bivalve to near Honga River to The Targets, moving east at 30 knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts in excess of 48 knots.

SOURCE...Observed wind.

IMPACT...Boaters could easily be thrown overboard by suddenly higher wind and waves capsizing their vessel. Boats could suffer significant damage in high winds. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas.

Locations impacted include... Ewell, Point Lookout, Tangier Sound, Smith Island, Deep Hole, Point No Point, The Targets, Southwest Middle Grounds, Richland Point Buoy, Deal Island, and Crisfield.
