At 420 PM MDT, emergency management reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the Middle Aspen Acres Burn Scar. Flash flooding is ongoing.
Excessive rainfall over the burn scar has resulted in debris flows. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding in and around the Middle Aspen Acres Burn Scar.
SOURCE...Emergency management reported.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of areas in and around the Middle Aspen Acres Burn Scar.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... San Isabel, Highway 165, Highway 78, stream crossings, and county roads within and immediately downstream of the burn scar.
This includes the following high risk locations... Beulah Water Intake, Northcreek Road county line to Red Mountain Camp and Northcreek Road from Red Mountain Camp to Beulah.
Emergency Managers noted flooding in the Aspen Acres Campground and flooding on Highway 165 with debris flows.
