* WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Chariton River near Prairie Hill.
* WHEN...Until Sunday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, Fields along the river begin to flood. At 19.0 feet, Farmland and secondary roads in the Chariton River floodplain are under water. At 20.0 feet, State Highway 129 is overtopped by flood waters 8 miles north of Salisbury.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:45 AM CDT Friday the stage was 21.6 feet. - Forecast...The river will rise to 22.2 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early tomorrow afternoon to 6.3 feet early Sunday afternoon. It will rise to 6.4 feet Sunday evening. It will then fall to 3.0 feet early Tuesday afternoon. It will then rise again but remain below flood stage. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 22.3 feet on 05/13/2010. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
