* WHAT...Large breaking waves up to 10 feet in the surf zone. Dangerous rip currents.
* WHERE...Along north, south, and west facing reefs of the Marianas.
* WHEN...Until 4 AM ChST Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Significant west to southwest swells continue to emanate from Super Typhoon Bavi (09W) and its trailing monsoon pattern, maintaining hazardous surf and a high risk of rip currents along north, south, and west facing reefs. So, the High Surf Advisory and High Rip Current Risk have been extended through at least early Saturday morning. As Bavi continues to pull away and the leading monsoon surge weakens, swells and associated surf will continue to diminish, potentially falling below hazardous levels by Saturday morning.
