The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... San Juan County in southeastern Utah... South Central Garfield County in southern Utah... Northeastern Kane County in southern Utah...

* Until 800 PM MDT.

* At 203 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across portions of Hole in the Rock Road, primarily over Harris Wash, Choprock Canyon, and Neon Canyon. Water will continue to flow down the Escalante River to Lake Powell. Up to 0.5 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks, streams, slot canyons, and normally dry washes.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Portions of Hole in the Rock Road, primarily over Harris Wash, Choprock Canyon, and Neon Canyon. Also, the Escalante River from Harris Wash south to Lake Powell.
