* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Central Surry County in northwestern North Carolina... Southeastern Carroll County in southwestern Virginia... South Central Floyd County in southwestern Virginia... Southwestern Patrick County in southwestern Virginia...
* WHEN...Until 715 AM EDT Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 109 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Archies Creek and Ararat River. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Mount Airy, Fairview, Flat Rock, Hillsville, Dobson and Cana. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
