For the following areas... Lake Ontario from Point Breeze to Hamlin Beach...

At 743 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located 7 nm northwest of Sunset Beach, or 34 nm east of Niagara River, moving east at 25 knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to 40 knots.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

The severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
