...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR EAST FACING SHORES OF KAUAI AND OAHU THROUGH MONDAY MORNING...

.Southeast swell generated by Hurricane Nolo is beginning to decline for the Big Island, but continues to produce advisory level surf for east and southeast facing shores. This swell combined with gale-force trades is producing advisory level surf along east facing shores of Maui, Molokai, Oahu and Kauai. Surf will diminish below advisory criteria later today for the eastern islands but will likely continue through tonight for Oahu and Kauai as Nolo moves westward away from the islands.

* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 10 to 14 ft in the morning, diminishing to 9 to 12 ft by this evening.

* WHERE...East facing shores of Kauai and Oahu.

* WHEN...Until 6 AM HST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Moderate to high. Strong breaking waves and strong currents will make swimming dangerous. Waves breaking in channel entrances may make navigating the channels dangerous.
