Details

...The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Flood Advisory for the following rivers in North Carolina and South Carolina...
(English) Broad River at Shelby Hwy (SC 18), 4 W Blacksburg affecting Cleveland and Cherokee Counties.
(English) Broad River above Sandy Run Ck, 3 SSW Boiling Springs affecting Cleveland County.
.Heavy rainfall from the remnants of Hurricane Isaias will result in excessive runoff and significant rises on streams within the Broad River watershed. Rainfall will develop overnight tonight, intensify during the day on Saturday, and maintain intensity through early Sunday morning before tapering off by late Sunday morning. Storm-total rainfall of 6-8 inches is expected, with isolated 10 inches possible, in the headwaters of the Broad River near Bat Cave, Chimney Rock, and Lake Lure with significantly lesser amounts downstream, including near Boiling Springs and Blacksburg, where storm-total rainfall of 2-3 inches is forecasted. While there continues to be some uncertainty regarding the exact location, timing, and amounts of the heaviest rainfall, there is enough confidence in the current forecast that out-of-bank conditions are likely for the Broad River downstream of the heaviest rainfall. Therefore, River Flood Advisories have been issued, with crests above Action Stage expected no later than Monday morning. Rises above Action Stage will result in nuisance, relatively shallow flooding of low-lying areas adjacent to the Broad River, including farmland, woodlands, low-lying secondary roads, greenways, parks, and other flood-prone locations.
More significant rises along the Broad River are possible, and those with interests along the Broad River are encouraged to stay weather aware and up-to-date on the latest stream levels and forecasts at https://water.noaa.gov/wfo/GSP. Current reasonable worst-case scenarios are posted in the ADDITIONAL DETAILS sections below. Forecast crests above Minor Flood Stage may result in the River Flood Advisories being upgraded to River Flood Warnings.
